Description

Sterile air systems with directed flow are often mobile devices that only keep a certain local working area free of particles and germs. This is achieved with a low-turbulence displacement flow which, however, has a slightly higher air velocity compared to conventional systems. In order to visualize the clean working area (protection zone), this is projected onto the object/work surface to be protected using four line lasers. However, it should be noted that the effective protection zone decreases with increasing distance (work surface to discharge surface), as turbulence forms in the edge zones with the stagnant room air. Systems equipped with air guiding elements allow a slightly greater distance with the same effective protection zone. The contaminated air should be drawn in at floor level, as this is usually where the highest particle load is. This measure also dilutes the air in the room. A pre-filter and HEPA filter (min. H13) ensure the separation of particles of 0.3 µm in size. The laminarizer harmonizes the air flow so that a stable, low-turbulence displacement flow can be blown out.

Such systems are used in processes where only a limited protection zone is required and/or partitioning by walls is not possible.
